What is a Trim Tab?

A trim tab is a small rudder on the larger rudder of a ship. It's a small effort that creates a big change. In customer experience, the trim tab is the point in the journey where a small improvement can create the greatest positive impact.

Metrics Explained (Scale 0-3)

• Negative Emotion: How negative is the customer feeling? (0=None, 3=Severe)
• High Turnaround Time: How long or inefficient does this step feel? (0=Fast, 3=Very Slow)
• Opposes Intention: How much does this step hinder the goal? (0=Helps, 3=Blocks)

Trim Tab Score

Calculated as the average of the three metrics. Higher scores (closer to 3.0) are potential trim tabs.

Colors in Visualization (Default)

• Red (Score 2.01 - 3.0): High potential
• Orange (Score 1.01 - 2.0): Medium potential
• Yellow (Score 0.1 - 1.0): Low potential
• Blue (Score 0.0 - 0.09): Minimal issue

Canvas Interaction

• Click a step box to open its editor.
• Click the < or > arrows on a step box to move it.
• Use the "Edit Colors" button to customize visualization colors.
• Use "Toggle Table View" to see step data as a table overlay.
